The Worst Event That I Have Organised

As a student leader, I was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing an event for my school which is Hari Raya celebration. I need to separate the job equally among the student. However, things did not go as planned and it turned out to be the worst event that I have ever organized.








 








I had chosen a theme for the event and had invited various performers to showcase their talents. For example, Wany Hasrita and Iman Troye. However, on the day of the event, many performers did not show up and those who did were unprepared. The sound system malfunctioned and there were technical difficulties throughout the event.








 








To make matters worse, there was poor communication between me and my team members which resulted in chaos during the event. The audience was left disappointed and frustrated by our lack of organization.








 








I also decided to order food from catering for all the students and teachers. So, i collect RM10 from each students and teachers. Suddenly, the catering manager called me and said they need to cancelled our order last minute because not having enough staff. So I decided to tell the students and teachers to bring their own food. Because of last minute notice, many of the students didn’t manage to bring their own food so, we don’t have enough food.








 








I learned a valuable lesson from this experience; that proper planning, communication, and contingency plans are crucial when organizing an event. It taught me to take responsibility for my mistakes and to work harder in order to improve myself as a leader.








 








In conclusion, this experience has made me more determined to organize better events in future with proper planning and execution.
